Landslide on Port St. Nicholas Road

Craig Public Works reports a landslide at about 2.7 mile Port St. Nicholas Road. This slide is blocking the road. Craig Public Works is currently working to clear the road and make it passable. In the meantime please limit travel along the Port St. Nicholas Road and expect closures and delays while our crews work

to clear the slide.

In addition to the slide area at 2.7 mile, there are blocked culverts at 3.3. and 3.5 mile on the Port St. Nicholas Road. Blocked culverts create flood hazards at both ends of the culvert and can weaken the stability of the road. Please report any additional slides or blocked culverts along the Port St. Nicholas Road to the City of Craig at 826-3275.

PLEASE AVOID TRAVEL IN THESE AREAS UNTIL THE SLIDES AND BLOCKAGES ARE CLEARED UP. IF YOU HAVE TO TRAVEL, PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN DRIVING IN THESE AREAS.

These slides and blockages are in addition to reports of a number of slides this morning on Prince of Wales that are blocking or affecting area roads. Reported slides near Black Bear and on other parts of the North Prince of Wales road system will affect travel between communities.
