Prince of Wales Chamber Doings

#discoverpowisland Thank you to Kathy Peavey for taking our Island Visitor Guide to Japan!

It’s exciting for the Prince of Wales Chamber of Commerce starting another membership year! We have

over 250 businesses and individuals renewing their membership for 2020 - and welcome any new businesses or entrepreneurs on Prince of Wales Island that would like to be included on our roster.

We are pleased to introduce www.discoverpowisland.com – our new visitor website. Be sure to follow

us on Facebook and help spread the news of our great business community on all of your social media outlets.

Work has begun on the 2020 Island Guide –and we thank Christina Barlow for spearheading its production this year. Your POW pictures and stories are welcomed for both our Internet and printed

publications. We have such a wonderful community and beautiful locale to brag about.

We’ll have our membership banquet on January 18th, and a Business Expo (aka Trade Show) on April 25th.

Be sure to mark your calendars now, because we know they fill up quickly. We look forward to networking with our members and guests alike at these events.

We are pleased to be using this year’s Travel Raffle proceeds to benefit the Prince of Wales Red Cross Disaster response team. Be sure to stock up on these $5 tickets to support this valuable group and provide plenty of chances for winning great travel awards.

We’re working on educational opportunities for employers and employees to help bring them together on our island to keep businesses working smoothly. We encourage members to keep us informed about their needs and to attend our monthly board meetings and help us with these projects. Together, we can keep the momentum going!

The Prince of Wales Chamber Office is open Monday-Friday 10am-3pm, in the Klawock Mall, with Wendy Hamilton, our full-time office manager, offering support to our island businesses and answering visitor inquiries. 907-755-2626.
