Economic Assistance for Small Businesses, Non-Profits, and Families in Craig

The City of Craig is accepting applications for grants to small businesses and non-profits who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a follow up the first round of economic assistance funding that was approved in June.

In order to be eligible, a small business or non-profit must have had a presence within the Craig city limits in 2019, have less than 50 employees, have less than $1,000,000 total income for 2019, and have been impacted by COVID-19. Impacts may include reduced revenue, additional expenses related to COVID-19, closures or reduced services based on health mandates/advisories, or having to lay off (or reduce work hours) employees.

Grants range from up to $3,000 - $10,000 based on the businesses total income. In the first

round of grant funding, the city committed $145,000 to 25 eligible recipients. Businesses

and non-profits who received funds in the first round are not eligible for additional funds in

the second round.

The economic assistance funds may be used for a variety of expenses including

rent/lease/mortgage payments, restocking, personal protective supplies, taxes, utilities,

and other expenses approved by the city.

For full eligibility requirements and a grant application go to www.craigak.com or stop by

Craig city hall. Grants for Economic Assistance to Small Businesses and Non-Profits are

due no later than 3:00 pm on Thursday, August 13th.

In addition to funding to help small businesses and non-profits, the city is working with

local non-profits and other agencies to provide financial assistance to individuals and

families in Craig who have been impacted by COVID-19. We will be advertising the

availability of funds through the non-profits as those programs are approved. Individual

and family assistance will be available for a variety of purposes including utility

assistance, rental assistance, medical expenses, childcare assistance, and other

programs. Keep an eye out for these programs as they are rolled out!

For more information about these programs visit the city web site at www.craigak.com or

call the City of Craig at 907-826-3275.
