1-New Positive Case in Craig


On December 21, 2020 the Craig Emergency Operations Center was notified of one new COVID-19 case

in Craig. The case is a Craig resident and has been classified as “secondary spread”, which indicates that

the infection was spread from a known positive case. The new case was identified as a close contact of an earlier case and has been in quarantine, making this a lower risk to the community. The case is now in isolation for the remainder of their infectious period. Public Health officials have completed the case investigation and contact tracing for this new case.


This case brings the total positive cases for Craig to ten positive cases since April. The last reported case in Craig were two resident cases reported on December 15th

.

Currently there are 4 active cases on Prince of Wales Island. There has been a total of 35 cases reported on Prince of Wales since April.


Per Press Release 034, the City of Craig will have closures and modified services for most city facilities through January 4th unless modified by subsequent press releases.


In addition to these closures and modified services, it is critical that everyone does their part to reduce the spread of COVID-19 by frequently washing your hands/using hand sanitizer, wearing a mask or cloth face covering when in public, limiting interaction between members of households, maintaining good social distances with people from other households, and staying home from work or school if you are experiencing any symptoms or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. If you are travelling, especially over the holidays, please take additional safety measures and consider limiting your exposure to other people for 7 – 14 days after you return from your travels.
