Progress Through Unity
To promote economic commerce on Prince of Wales Island by advocating economic vitality, high quality of life, and wise use in the development of our resources for the benefit of all Island residents and their communities. Annual events seek to promote Island commerce and enhance the quality of life for all. These events include publication of our annual Prince of Wales Visitor Guide, Adopt-a-marathon Mile cleanup in May - sponsorship of the POW Marathon, Biennial Visitor Summit, and Annual High School Graduate Scholarships. In 2016, the Chamber will stage a Trade Show for its members and other events to mark its 25th Anniversary.
Who We Are
Since 1991, the Prince of Wales Chamber of Commerce organized, as a nonprofit (501 (c) 6) organization dedicated to wise use and development of resources and providing the public with information about Prince of Wales Island. The Chamber is made up of businesses and individuals who support sustained development for the benefit of all the Island's communities and its people.
The Chamber is governed by a nine member Board of Directors. Board members are elected by the Membership to two-year seats, with four members elected each year. It is the goal of the Chamber to strive to have members that represent as many communities Island-wide as possible.
The Prince of Wales Chamber of Commerce is funded by advertising in the annual Island Guide and dues paid by the Membership. Annual Graduate Scholarships are funded by the generous underwriting of its members as well as other benefactors.
